Julian Assange, founder of the website Wikileaks, was arrested Thursday in London, by Metropolitan Police officers on charges of violating bail conditions related to a Swedish rape case that’s no longer under investigation after he was thrown out of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
Assange, was arrested at Ecuador’s London embassy, where he has been taking up residence for a little more than six years amid growing upset from the Ecuadorian and British governments. This latest development will most likely lead to, Julian, being extradited to the United States.
The President of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, visited London in July, 2018, to sign an agreement to revoke Julian’s asylum protection with the United Kingdom.
Even though, the rape investigation was terminated a year ago, Assange, hid behind the safety of the Ecuadorian embassy’s walls out of fear that he might be extradited to the U.S.A. for leaking classified military and diplomatic information through his website, Wikileaks, aided by Chelsea Manning.
